Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping

Where do you ship to?

A3D is happy to ship worldwide!

Our items are all made from durable plastics unless otherwise noted, and are shipped in minimal bubble wrap envelope packaging or plain cardboard boxes.

Note: any additional taxes, dutes, fees, or other charges upon import to international customers' countries are the responsibility of the customer. A3D does not do enough international business to collect taxes or have tax payable accounts with other countries or trade unions.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes! For customers with nearby shipping addresses, the shipping options on the checkout page should include a "Local Pickup" option.

How long do shipments take?

This depends heavily on where the destination is, as well as external factors such as holiday mail volume (or global pandemic). Most destinations should see packages arriving within 2-3 weeks of the order date, at the latest.

How long is the shipping lead time?

Most orders are produced on-demand, due to the large number of possible item combinations available from A3D and the limited inventory space available.

Generally, we try to complete production of orders the same or next business day after they are placed. Orders are then typically shipped 1-2 business days after they are produced.

For very large orders which exceed this production time target, A3D will send an email to the customer email supplied during checkout to inform them of the delay.

Product Information

What material(s) do you use?

A3D's preferred choice of plastic is PETG, due to its relatively high stiffness, ease/reliability of printing, and resistance to impact, temperature, and chemicals.

For some products where the temperature/impact resistance of PETG is not required, or where even higher stiffness is required, PLA may also be used.

For product applications requiring durable threads, brass inserts are heat-set into PETG parts. This ensures that accessories, such as clicker blades, can be repeatedly installed, removed, and adjusted, without damage to the A3D product.

Where are your items manufactured?

All of our 3D printed plastic items are designed and manufactured in-house in Ontario, Canada.

The plastics themselves are sourced from Canadian suppliers and, where possible, plastics produced within Canada are preferred, or else USA and European sources are the next preferred.

Other supplies, such as brass thread inserts, or stainless steel screws and threaded rods, or elastics for arm guards, are sourced from various suppliers and are likely to have been produced overseas before being incorporated into an A3D product.
